There was a question of to offer, or not to offer with Brevin Pritzl. But Wisconsin ultimately committed to giving him an offer last Tuesday, and on Thursday Pritzl became the first prospect to join the 2015 class.
Pritzl, a 247 Sports four-star prospect, was gaining interest from some major programs as May rolled around. Creighton offered, Marquette offered, Xavier offered and schools like Indiana, Michigan and North Carolina were sniffing around. But with a Wisconsin offer in hand, Pritzl pledged to be the first piece of what promises to be a deep 2015 recruiting class.
Pritzl received offers from some quality mid-major schools in Davidson, UWGB and UWM among others before his recent emergence. And if you want to make the lazy comparison, the Badgers have themselves 6'3 two-guard who can hit threes from anywhere. There's definitely some Ben Brust-sized shoes that could well be filled quickly.
From Phil's scouting report on on Pritzl:
Brevin Pritzl not only bears a striking resemblance to former Onalaska guard Matt Thomas, but as his game develops, Pritzl may represent an opportunity to make up for missing out on Thomas in 2013. Pritzl is turning into a premier shooter/scorer who could fit the Ben Brust mold with a bit more length. He can fill it up in a hurry.
Pritzl is an unabashed Badger fan and has had plenty to say about his excitement watching UW reach the Final Four this season.
