Never let it be said that those who look to be staying around for what we're assuming will be the Paul Chryst administration aren't out there on that recruiting hustle. Thursday brought the Badgers that salve that healed all wounds with the commitment of four-star Dallas (South Oak Cliff) running back Jordan Stevenson. Friday brought the Badgers the ultimate in in-state flavor when Marshall inside linebacker Ty DeForest accepted a preferred walk-on spot.
Marshall (WI.) senior LB Ty DeForest (@TyDeForest5) has accepted a preferred walk-on offer to Wisconsin #Badgers

DeForest, listed at 6'1 and 205 pounds, claimed offers from Illinois State, Southern Illinois and Western Illinois, and has a reported 40-yard dash time at 4.60 seconds. His Hudl profile shows a smart player who rarely takes a false step and can take great angles in pursuit to get to a ball carrier with a potential to explode violently into a ball carrier.
Of course, it's a ways to go between where he is now and seeing the field. But the Badgers know how to turn walk-ons into players, and in a recruiting class that looks to have the most potential attrition at linebacker, DeForest's number absolutely could get called.
