Vonte Jackson moving to safety

Wisconsin sophomore Vonte Jackson is switching to safety from running back as he works his way back from his third ACL tear in less than two years, the Wisconsin State Journal's Tom Mulhern reports. The Badgers attempted something similar with a speedy running back in Jeff Lewis last spring, but he was unable to make an impact in the secondary before switching back to running back. After losing Dezmen Southward to graduation and Tanner McEvoy -- at least tentatively -- to the quarterback battle, Wisconsin's left with junior Michael Caputo and sophomores Nate Hammon, Leo Musso and Joe Ferguson at safety.
