So this year we have a logjam with our starting Lineup. With one senior, it will be even worse the following year. Will Gasser and Dekker leave early with Brust, or will they stay causing George Marshall and possibly, Traevon Jackson, to transfer. I don't see why Jackson would, but maybe Koenig steals significant minutes causing Jackson to transfer to another big school, that can really use his point guard skills. We will be in a crunch for true big men this year as Kaminsky likes staying outside, and not on the inside rebounding.
This need for big men really helps our chances at Kevin Looney from Milwaukee Hamilton High School, in Milwaukee. He is the number 7 player in the nation and he really wants to stay in Wisconsin. So if he comes and Gasser and Dekker stay, then our starting lineup would be Koenig, Gasser, Dekker, Kaminsky, and Looney. Which leaves a senior, Traevon Jackson, possibly not starting. Nigel Hayes and Vitto Brown will get better, causing a battle for Kaminsky's spot, which could leave two previous starters not starting. Throw on other possible freshmen, and now the team gets even more congested. But with a lot of good players fighting for time, I think we can be a strong team late in the season.
Kevin Looney would definitely be a great acquisition for Wisconsin, but that would make our future unclear, and at this point, I would prefer to know how our future lineup looks. But hey, Bo knows what he is doing and how to get the best out of his players. And, if Kevin Looney doesn't come then there is less confusion on the lineup. These next few years will be good ones if you are a Wisconsin Badger basketball fan.
