Wisconsin Opens 2 Spring Football Practices to Fans

What a guy, that Gary Andersen.

On Wednesday, Wisconsin announced that Andersen has "announced" that two practices will be open to fans this spring. The first will be April 6 at 3:30 p.m. CT, with April 12's practice at 5p.m. the second. The latter will also be the Badgers' last scrimmage before their spring game on April 20, which is cool.

"I think it will be great to give our fans a chance to see our team a couple times during the spring," Andersen said. "Obviously our fans are a huge reason why we are successful and our guys love to play in front of the fans. These events are a chance for all of us to say thanks to all the Badgers fans."

More details:

Fans will be able to enter Camp Randall Stadium through Gate 1 beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 6. The Badgers will practice from 10:45 a.m. until approximately 12:45 p.m. The practice time for Friday, April 12 will be determined that week in accordance with the weather forecast. The earliest practice would start would be 4:30 p.m. If the weather allows, the start time will be moved to early evening.

Both open practices are free for the public and weather permitting. If weather precludes the Badgers from practicing in Camp Randall Stadium, fan access to that practice will be cancelled.

One lucky fan will win a pair of season tickets for the 2013 season at each open practice. Andersen will also briefly address the fans at the conclusion of each practice.

Remember, Wisconsin's spring game will also be broadcast live on BTN.

Tickets to the game are $5 with all proceeds going to the UW School of Pharmacy. The game will also be televised live by BTN.

Prior to the Spring Game, UW will hold its annual Badger Kids' Fair, presented by First Choice Dental and UW Health. The event runs from 2-4 p.m. and will be held in the McClain Center, adjacent to the stadium.

The free event includes interactive games, displays, autographs, photos with Bucky and a number of athletic skills stations. Many UW sports will be represented at the fair, and kids will have an opportunity to meet current student-athletes.
