Traevon Jackson Delivers Buzzer-Beater

USA TODAY Sports

Wisconsin escapes Penn State with a 63-60 win thanks to the sophomore's 26-footer as time expired.

Traevon Jackson's 26-foot jump shot from the left wing in the final seconds stunned the home crowd at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, Pa., lifting a struggling Wisconsin team to a remarkable 63-60 victory over Penn State on Sunday afternoon.

The sophomore guard stepped up in a major way late with eight of UW's last 10 points of the game. The Badgers overcame a turnover and a jump ball on their two penultimate inbounds plays, but luckily had the possession arrow in their favor to get the ball back.

On the final play, Mike Bruesewitz found Jackson on the left side of the court and the lefthander took the ball and sped down the sideline past three Penn State defenders. Jackson stopped to set himself with one second on the clock and fired away for an improbably walk-off win.

Jackson finished with 15 points to lead Wisconsin in the back-and-forth affair.

Jermaine Marshall and D.J. Newbill combined for 45 points for the Nittany Lions.
