Canada Accepts Job At North Carolina State

It's official...

What was reported Thursday night has become official today. Offensive Coordinator Matt Canada has accepted the same position at North Carolina State and a return with his former Northern Illinois boss Dave Doeren.

"Matt has had to run his offense with different personnel and has been successful each time. He will make the transition much easier for me. He's not only a tremendous quarterback coach who has developed quarterbacks into NFL players, but he has also developed the run game, as evidenced by Wisconsin's success rushing the ball this season." -Dave Doeren

While there were inconsistencies and issues that plagued the Badgers offense for the entirety of the regular season, Canada's play calling is deservedly credited with helping the Badgers roll up 70 points on the Cornhuskers in the Big Ten Championship. Canada becomes the third assistant to officially leave Madison after Bret Bielema's departure, and there are mentions of a fourth (Andy Buh) in the mix for a couple of defensive coordinator positions.
