Since Wisconsin Badgers quarterback Joel Stave broke his collarbone on Oct. 27, head coach Bret Bielema has not announced a replacement starter. His choice is between junior transfer Danny O'Brien and fifth-year senior Curt Phillips. The two are listed as co-starters on the depth chart, and have split snaps at practice during the team's bye week.

As SI.com reports, Bielema does not plan on announcing his starter to the public. On Monday, he discussed the situation with Wisconsin's coaches, and he is planning on notifying players on Tuesday. What he did say is that the starter, whoever it is, will get full playing time, barring an injury or a special play designed for one of the two.

In O'Brien, Bielema knows what he is getting. O'Brien was the team's starter for the first three games of the season, but was replaced by Stave on Sept. 15 because O'Brien struggled with turnovers.

Phillips' mobility makes him an intriguing option. He has played far less than O'Brien this season, and hasn't thrown a pass since 2009.
