The Fighting Irish garnered 63 of 71 first-place votes, building the sort of margin Alabama once held between itself and the rest of the Top 25.
Results for Week 12
SB Nation BlogPoll College Football Rankings 2012
As expected, the rest of SB Nation has slid Notre Dame into the No. 1 spot in this week's BlogPoll. Alabama settles in behind it with just four first-place votes, as Andy Hutchins lays out. The next two teams, Oregon at No. 3 and Georgia at No. 4, swapped spots compared to B5Q's ballot, while Kansas State's three-spot fall landed it at No. 5. I had Ohio St. at No. 5 and the Wildcats one spot lower, perhaps indicating some sort of cruel conviction I've gained since Saturday's events.
In the middle of the poll, Stanford's win at Oregon awarded the Cardinal a four-spot rise to No. 10, while three other teams between No. 11 and 14 dropped at least one spot.
At the bottom were most of the big climbers, including new Big Ten partner Rutgers, Michigan, Oklahoma St., Northern Illinois and Boise St.
As for the "awards," B5Q found itself in the running for two. In the running for "Jim Tressel's Numb Existence," we're second for having not a very divergent ballot. Elsewhere, B5Q was third in the "Straight Bangin' Award for having a low bias rating.
