SB Nation BlogPoll College Football Top 25 Rankings
I say "bland" because of the lack of movement in a college football weekend that didn't lack excitement, but rather landscape-altering results.
With how much energy, emotion and whatnot (anger?) we exhausted in these parts after losing to Nebraska, it's odd to take in the rest of the weekend's results and not see much to change. Stanford falls by way of its 17-13 loss at Washington. I was unsure about the merits of a five-spot drop (whether it should be higher or lower) given Washington shares a 3-1 record and was also playing at home.
I was also tempted to drop Michigan St. further, but couldn't placing Northwestern any higher than the Spartans. On a neutral field, I just believe Michigan St. would win a great majority of the matchups. I was also tempted to rank Oregon State higher than No. 20, though I was feeling some non-objective inkling having been impressed with the Beavers' rise.
From Nos. 20 to 25, I was looking for a reason to shake some things up, but just couldn't justify doing so, what with all of the inactivity in that range.
So what'd I mess up? What'd I get right? I'm not sure how late polls are open this week, but I'm always happy to discuss changes and alter my ballot if possible.
