Andy Baggot of Madison.com writes that the Wisconsin athletic department is trying to add some fresh BCS faces to the Badgers' schedule in the future. Baggot mentions Pittsburgh out of the Big East, as well as Kansas State from the newly- numerically challenged Big 12. Both schools have a connection or two to the Badgers: athletic director Barry Alvarez is from Pennsylvania and Baggot says he has "an affinity for Pitt," and Bret Bielema was KSU's co-defensive coordinator for two years. Don't forget former Badgers running back Zach Brown is now a Pitt Panther.
After years of playing so-called "cupcake schedules." it looks like the Badgers are still actively looking for tougher non-conference opponents. The Badgers are already scheduled to play Washington State at home in 2015, they have a home and home scheduled with Virginia Tech in 2016-17, as well as a home and home with Washington in 2017-18.
