Badger Bits: Leuer in Indy, Russell Wilson in Madison?
Hey all, hope you're staying cool today in the face of these record high temperatures sweeping the Midwest. If free agent quarterback Russell Wilson is truly visiting Madison today as has been reported, he'll feel right at home with the heat, as he hails from Virginia and obviously played for NC State. A quick update on how Wilson is faring in minor league baseball can be found here. He's hitting .212 for the Class A Asheville Tourists, and just hit his second home run of the season on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Jon Leuer continues his NBA team workout tour with a stop in Indianapolis. Other players he'll be working out with include Butler's Matt Howard and Purdue's E'Twaun Moore. He also just worked out with the Pistons. Where do you think would be the best NBA landing spot for Jon? Let us know in the comments.
Less 11 AM CT kickoffs in the Big Ten is the plan going forward, though Wisconsin already has one 11 AM kickoff scheduled for this season. The starting times for the games against Northern Illinois and Oregon State will be announced later today.
Brandon Harrison over at Badger Branded posted a twitpic of the Athlon Sports magazine cover which sophomore running back James White shares with schlubs from Michigan and Notre Dame.
According to this Bleacher Report slideshow, Wisconsin has the worst starting quarterback of any preseason top-25 team.

Yeah, linking to that is not me giving credence to BR
Just something to think about. It shows that at least one person (and potentially the majority of the nation) has the perception that Budmayr will not be a good quarterback. Hasn’t shown much in the Spring Game to prove otherwise, but I think he could be a solid, reliable quarterback for us this season.

Regarding Leuer
I think Chicago would be well served to give him a long look. He could help them in a lot of areas.
If I didn't know better, I'd think the Brewers were a halfway decent baseball team...
As a Bulls fan, please no.
Sorry, Leuer really disappointed me last season and I honestly don’t think he’s going to be that great of a pro.
Plus, Bulls already have Noah, Boozer, Gibson and Asik. There isn’t any room for Leuer.
