Four Badgers have now been drafted in the first three rounds of the 2011 NFL Draft as the Seattle Seahawks took John Moffitt with the 75th overall pick Friday.
Seattle has made a significant push to improve their offensive line as Moffitt was the second offensive lineman they took with their first two picks. The Seahawks took Alabama offensive lineman James Carpenter with the 25th overall pick in the first round, passing on Gabe Carimi. Both Carpenter and Moffitt are considered versatile guys who can play multiple positions on the line.
Moffitt will get a chance to play right away with Seattle.
He joins J.J. Watt, Gabe Carimi and Lance Kendricks as other former Wisconsin Badgers taken in the 2011 NFL Draft. Watt went to the Texans with 11th overall pick in the first round and was joined Thursday night by Gabe Carimi who went to the Bears with the 29th overall selection. Lance Kendricks was the first Badger to be selected Friday as he went to the Rams with the 47th overall pick.
