NFL Mock Draft: Which Badgers will be selected in second round?

The NFL Draft picks back up tonight at 5 p.m. CT with the 2nd round of picks. The 3rd round will also be held tonight. With J.J. Watt headed to the Texans and Gabe Carimi going to the Bears, the Badgers had two first round picks selected for the first time since 2001, when the Dolphins took Jamar Fletcher and the Vikings selected Michael Bennett.

So will any Badgers be selected in the second round? Many of the mock drafts released after the completion of the first round don't seem to think so. The SB Nation Round Two Mock Draft by Brian Galliford has no mention of Lance Kendricks and John Moffitt, the two Badgers most likely next in line to be drafted.

Notre Dame's Kyle Rudolph, rated as the top tight end in the draft by many observers, was not selected in the first round. The fact that Rudolph didn't get picked on day one could knock Kendricks out of the second round. Follow the jump and we'll take a look at a couple of other post-first round mock drafts.

Star-divide

SB Nation's Mocking the Draft also has a fresh second round mock draft out, but no mention of LK or JM.

WalterFootball.com's second round redraft does have a Lance Kendricks sighting! They have him going to the Buccaneers at pick 51. And for good measure, Moffitt shows up in their third round redraft, heading to Kansas City at 86.

Love them or hate them, ESPN's tandem of draft analysts also have 2nd round projections out. Todd McShay's mock has Moffitt going to the Pittsburgh Steelers at pick 63, but no Badger love from Mel Kiper.

So, that's just a small taste of what draft observers see shaking out tonight. Kendricks and Moffitt will be have a chance to be drafted in the second round, but it's certainly not a given for either. The safe money is on both getting drafted in the third round. And at this point in the draft, getting drafted by a team that is a good fit for you is probably more important than what round you get drafted in. Nonetheless, tonight is likely the night for Lance and John.
