Montee Ball named a Heisman Trophy finalist
Montee Ball is headed to New York City as a Heisman Trophy finalist.
Ball was named one of five finalists for the prestigious award along with Alabama running back Trent Richardson, Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck, Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III and LSU cornerback Tyrann Matthieu.
On Twitter, Ball celebrated by writing, "YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!" and "best Bday present!"
The winner will be announced Saturday night at the Heisman Trophy ceremony in New York.
Ball leads the country in both yards (1,759) and touchdowns (38). He needs just two touchdowns in the Rose Bowl to break Barry Sanders' all-time record for most touchdowns in a season.

Yet I don't think any stand out from the rest.
Except of course Ball but I can’t tell if I’m being objective on that.
It'll be criminal if Trent Richardson gets it over him
and will just reinforce the argument that college football is far too pro-SEC.
Some of the other guys would be understandable(ish), but not Richardson.
Packers? Working on a dynasty.
Blackhawks? Taking care of business as usual.
Brewers, Badgers? THIS IS WHY YOU CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS.
Totally agree.
I will only be okay with this if either Ball or Griffin III win it. The other three should be miles behind those two.

Pretty much how I feel too. Has to be RGIII or Ball.
You can’t make an argument for Richardson except “but..but.. S-E-C!”
Luck wasn’t even the best quarterback this season, let alone the best player.
Mathieu is certainly a playmaker, but he’s no Charles Woodson.

If it made sense, it wouldn't be the BCS.

No, he isn't
In point of fact, if SEC officiating had not awarded him a TD for pulling a DeSean Jackson, he’d be in the running for “Dumbass of the Year”, as he was suspended for drug-related issues against Auburn and brutally clotheslined Dre Kirkpatrick on a stupid, pointless block that ended up costing LSU valuable field position.

I can understand anyone but Richardson.
If he gets it the Heisman voters will look stupid when Ball wins the Doak Walker.
