Around SBN: New York Giants Super Bowl XLVI Ring Unveiled

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Jeff Potrykus is reporting Wisconsin offensive coordinator Paul Chryst has a formal offer from Texas to become the Longhorns' offensive coordinator.

But despite numerous indications that the offer could be as much as $1 million, Potrykus' sources say Chryst may stay at Wisconsin anyway, with the Badgers giving him a sizeable raise.

From the report:

Two sources reiterated Tuesday they would be surprised to see Chryst leave despite the allure of the Texas program and the huge dollar figure.

They continue to point to the fact that Chryst is a Wisconsin native, UW graduate and son of the late George Chryst, who played and coached at UW. They also note the thought of uprooting his wife and three children is not appealing.

He better stay

or else my hopes for seeing the “Jesus Chryst” t-shirt become a UW student section staple are fading fast.

maybe the back of the shirt could read something like “just run the damn ball”.

Or “why on earth are you lining up with 5 WRs when the D KNOWS we’re going to run a QB draw?”

Chryst

There has been a rumor going around down here that he might be asked to join the Dallas cowboys coaching staff when Garret officially gets the job. Just wondering if that’s was being floated up there at all?

I've heard that rumor as well and also that Chryst has been considered as a candidate for the Pitt HC job.

However, the rumor is that Garrett will be calling the plays mainly and the Dallas OC would be more of a supportive role. Also, it is rumored that Chryst is not interested in becoming a HC. Take the rumors for what you will.

The Cowboys are definitely a possibility.

Garrett and Chryst are old friends and Garrett offered Chryst the QB coaching job in Dallas when he became the OC.

Garrett was reportedly made the head coach in Dallas this morning so it’s another Chryst angle we have to watch.
