B5Q Two-a-Days: Taylor could play at UNLV
Freshman Mason could need knee surgery; Valai has concussion
It appears Mike Taylor's latest knee surgery won't be as damaging as originally thought. He might not even miss a game, Bret Bielema said after Wednesday night's practice.
"It was good news," Bielema said. "His injury looked better than they thought. They were able to clean it up. I know Mike is in good spirits. Hopefully we'll get him back sooner than later. Might be before the UNLV game."
The Badgers might not be as lucky with a pair of freshmen on offense.
Redshirt freshman Brian Wozniak suffered a fracture in his right shoulder and is out indefinitely. Further X-rays will be done tomorrow to determine the severity of the injury.
Meanwhile, true freshman wide receiver Marquis Mason was using crutches and did not practice tonight after being active in the morning practice. He has been battling knee tendinitis since the summer, according to Bielema, but it could result in surgery.
Mason wrote on his facebook page Wednesday night: "Potentially need knee surgery..."
Bielema said the freshman would have an MRI done Thursday.
Some other quick injury updates:
Jay Valai suffered a concussion Monday and is being held out of practice and team meetings for the time being ... Kevin Zeitler has an ankle sprain but says he should be out of the boot tomorrow ... Conor O'Neill had a sprained ankle and should be back by Friday ... Jordan Kohout should also be ready by Friday ... Bielema added that Kevin Claxton is close to returning too after aggravating his back.

Speaking of which...
Is anyone else going to Vegas for the UNLV game? It would be sweet to have a mini-B5Q get-together out there.

Thinking about it
I would love to go, as this is the closest the Badgers will play to me for some time (only 7 hour drive or so from northern Utah!). However, money is tight, so I am going to make a last minute decision.

I will be there.
Probably headed to the Badger Huddle outside the stadium before the game. I’ll have to set up some kind of meet up point for B5Q readers.
