Alvarez to be inducted into College Football Hall of Fame

As expected, Barry Alvarez will be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

The announcement was made today on ESPNEWS, but Alvarez said he knew of the honor last week.

The UW Athletic Department was obviously ready. Check out their tribute to Barry Alvarez by clicking on the above headline.

I checked out what you were talking about.

The tone of nearly all of the anti-Alvarez posts is essentially the same, which leads me to believe it is the same person (or couple of people) paraphrasing his thoughts in multiple posts under multiple screen names. The fact that Lou Holtz is inserted in many of the posts leads me to believe this person is a Irish-hater.

I have only been a Badger fan for about 2 years now, but I have gotten the sense that Barry Alvarez is a great ambassador of the University of Wisconsin and has the respect of fans, former players, and everyone else in Madison. Am I missing something? Are there skeletons in Mr. Alvarez’s closet? Input from someone here longer than me would be greatly appreciated.
