BTN analysts saying Hughes should be on first team, and saying he is the best defensive players in the conference….nice props.
J.Bo gets 3rd team
Leuer not on any of the teams?

Painter and Matta get coach of the year……hmmmm.

I don't like that pick because neither of their teams was expected to finish 9th in the conference.

In retrospect, that’s ridiculous that the Badgers WERE expected to finish 9th in the Big Ten. The seniors from last year were scoring factors, yes, but the Badgers were average in 08 and the record reflects that.

agreed

But I am bias toward Bo and Co. Idk, it seems Purdue and OSU coaches did what they were expected to do, whereas Bo gets his team to the top 20 in nation and 2nd (?) in big ten, with wins over each of those teams.

On the other hand, Matt Painter is a jerk.

He’s ALWAYS whining about calls, and then grinning like an idiot afterwards…

We’ll see how far they go in the BTT. But I would LOVE it if the Badgers beat Purdue in Indianapolis…

Ok—just to play devils advocate, but Bo is always in the officials ears, and has a great sarcastic clap/laugh at bad calls. Both of which I love by the why, but both coaches do it. Of all the other teams in the B10 Purdue is by far my favorite, they’ve been fun to watch since freshmen, and Painter has done a good job with them. But I definitely agree with you, I would love to see the Badgers win the BTT no matter who they end up playing.

I'd have to disagree with Sims on the second team

And you have NO Wisconsin players on the first team? I know I’m biased, but E’Twaun Moore was WAY too iffy. He’d have a great night and then get nothing the next.

Don’t pull the “favoritism” card out. For some reason I don’t think that highly of Evan Turner… Could it be because his one performance against Wisconsin came when Jon Leuer was out? Seems to be the case…

Evan Turner in Big Ten play

Points per game: 1st
Rebounds per game: 1st
Steals per game: 1st
Assists per game: 2nd

yeah, I can see why you don’t think highly of him…..

by Loretta8 on Mar 8, 2010 7:18 PM CST up reply actions

I agree no doubt he is POY, they said something like he is the only player to average 19 pts, 9 boards 5 assits and shoot 50%, those are insane numbers.

by wisco87 on Mar 8, 2010 7:49 PM CST up reply actions

Turner also had an incredible number of turnovers to start the season...

I think the Badgers Radio Network said he almost had a triple double before Wisconsin went to Columbus: Assists, Points, and Turnovers.

I have a feeling OSU fans are ok with his TO’s, just as long as he produces everywhere else haha.

by wisco87 on Mar 8, 2010 8:12 PM CST up reply actions

Trust me, they won't be if his turnovers cost them dearly in the NCAA Tournament...

Then they’ll give him the Greg Oden treatment.

“Ohio State went to the National Title IN SPITE OF Greg Oden, not because of him!” Yeah, I read that on Yahoo! shortly after Oden’s season ending patellar tendon injury…

my bad

thought you were saying you didn’t think highly of his game

agreed on LeBron

These are good choices

Could definitely make a case for Hughes to be higher, but I like the decision to classily rank the hometown guys a little low.

Bo Ryan should definitley be coach of the year, no idea how he didn’t win. Easy to see why Leuer didn’t get on any teams, dude missed half the season. Would probably be 2nd team at worst had he been healthy.

I've got major problems with a number of the selections.

I will detail them all in a post Tuesday.
