In the women's game
Vermont’s coach looks like Amy Poehler after a rough night.
Badgers down by 6 with a minute left.

I’m thinking that the Badgers need to play their best game of the season today. I bet Bo has them ready.
by rahchgo on Mar 21, 2010 1:28 PM CDT via mobile reply actions
hopefully bo has a better coaching performance than
Thad Matta. Why is Evan Turner playing point guard?
Turner has played the point since he came back from injury
That’s the sole reason why they rebounded from a 1-3 start and won the Big Ten

Supposedly Cornell's defense is their weakness
So the fact that we haven’t scored yet worries me.
by Adam Tupitza on Mar 21, 2010 1:56 PM CDT up reply actions
Cornell isn't missing
And when they finally do, they always get the offensive board. Get the rebounds guys!
Well, 0-for-2 on the rebounding

Rough Rebounds
Looks like the refs letting Cornell, do whate’er they want on the boards.
2 soft fouls on Wisconsin
Cornell allowed to bang on the boards. Gonna be a long day…

Should have been a Technical.

Finally a foul on the overaggressive Cornell rebounder.
And the Cornell player is incredulous. Just because you are an Ivy League team doesn’t mean you don’t commit fouls…
Finally J-Bo
keep it going

Trevon
is doing a great job of not forcing it today. Cornell’s trying to key in on him so he’s doing a good job of passing the ball after getting in the lane.
We miss layups
they hit fade-away 3s with 1 second on the shot clock. UGH.

Is it wrong...
to secretly hope that this Wittman guy twists his ankle and misses the remainder of the game?

Wittman = Steph Curry all over again

Wisconsin, where layups go to die.

Has every loose ball foul
gone against Wisco?

No foul when a Cornell player goes to the floor and trips a Badger.
Not like THAT EXACT CALL WENT AGAINST THE BADGERS EARLIER
USG
Because they are Cornell.
These refs should be fired at halftime.

This game is just painful.
It’s like watching someone blatantly cheating and not being able to call them on it. They’re grabbing, pulling, and holding under every board, and we’re the ones getting called for everything. The Badgers haven’t gotten out of their own way with some of the turnovers and missed layups, but this is just ridiculous.
USG
All that banging on the rebounds
and Cornell ends the half with 5 team fouls. Attack the boards!

Bo's message to Hughes at the half:
Get your head out of your ass or this is the last half of basketball of your career.

Trevon has done quite a bit to work his way out of my good graces over the season.
I’ll be looking forward to seeing Taylor progress next year.

43 points for Cornell at half. 49 points for Wofford all game on Friday. Think we can hold them to 6 in the 2nd half?
Wow, this halftime show is a joke.
“Jon Leuer hasn’t been able to get any rhythm going offensively!”
14 points on 5-5 shooting
“It’s a pleasure to watch Cornell on the offensive end! Wisconsin looks confused defensively, giving up all kinds of open shots”
I just watched them hit covered 3 after covered 3, putting difficult floaters in over the tips of Leuer’s fingers…

I can’t figure out why we look like we take some random mid season game against Indiana about 70X more seriously than a tournament game? Why do we do this? Plodding around like anemic dinosaurs out there….
by Mark Vershaw's Hair Gel on Mar 21, 2010 2:53 PM CDT reply actions
I dont know about that. This team has got more guys on it that are capable of being (and actually have been) the leading scorer in a game than any other badger team in recent memory.
by Mark Vershaw's Hair Gel on Mar 21, 2010 2:58 PM CDT up reply actions
I doubt there not taking this game seriously. I think they lost some confidence after the poor shooting in Illinois, and have fallen into a slump where there vulnerable and start playing there games not too lose instead of trying to win which is not a good approach to a tournament game against a hot shooting cinderella team.
It is highly unlikely that they are actually not taking this game seriously, but what I can’t figure out is why it looks so much like that. Failing box out, missing layups, poor passes into traffic, failing to go TO the ball when catching a pass. Its just poor fundamentals, and when a team is shooting very well on top of it, we’re really going to have trouble pulling off a win

Maybe it's a product of Bo's even-keeled approach?
He could turn the pressure up/create a sense of urgency when we hit tourney time?

Chicago area coverage
Just switched over to Missouri and WV. Guess I’ll do my taxes and read your comments guys.
Reading Bo Ryan's lips to the ref who just T'ed him up.
F*** you. You’re an idiot. F*** you. You’re an idiot.
It certainly does seem like the amount of physicality being allowed is not the same on both ends

man it hurts when you cant slack down and provide backside help because all of their guys shoot 3000% from the arc

I hope Kentucky beats Cornell by 30.
Makes us look better if Cornell competes with UK, but I don’t care.

JBo will be a big loss, but 2 isn’t horrible.
We’ll be losing 4 starting seniors…
Any promising recruits?
I need scissors! 61!
funny you mention that...
Had a guard out of Madison that was going to the UW, but changed his mind this year- lots of controversy-Got a 4 star center (not too sure about) but a good, high scoring guard also from WIsconsin. We will miss the clutch of Hughes (although not today) Jon gasser is his name he will be a shooter to replace Jbo in a few years.
I'm not going to miss Hughes much at all.

was that Bohannon’s first dunk?!?!

Bohannon dunk!
One very minuscule positive to take out of the 2nd half of this game.

Yeah that was Bohannon's first career dunk

Spartans lost a 10 point lead, but Lucious just drained a trey to win it at the buzzer.

Sorry about the loss, guys...
I had a good time in the thread here, but i`m going to head back over to California Golden Blogs to get ready for the Cal – Duke game…
Hope to catch you all later at some point.
Just. Beat. Duke.
Well..
Congrats to Cornell, definitely played well today, and were impressive.
I wish Jbo and Hughes could have had better ways to end their career, but it just wasn’t happening today.
For a season that looked like it was going to be about proving pre-season doubters wrong
Going 1-2 in the tournaments…
Awful. Nothing to be proud of this season. Nothing at all.

Cornell just killed the top two defensive teams in the country.
Very impressive, but I’m sorry, that’s not a 12 seed.

All we can hope for now
is that we face Cornell in hockey and smack them around. There’s actually a decent shot that we could face them in a Frozen Four semifinal.
Oh...
…. a painful out in the second round? Sounds like Bo Ryan’s Badgers to me.
I love Bo, but he’s spoiled me, and I’m tired of losing in the 2nd round of the NCAA’s. Tough draw or not, I want to see them make the Sweet 16 in back to back years.
