Ed Hightower is a joke though.

Beilein calmly said “He got hit the arm” and Hightower yelled at him and stared him down for 10 seconds while not watching the play that was happening right in front him.

Stop putting on a show and do your job Ed.

As I expected, Michigan is giving Ohio State a decent effort

But the Buckeyes are in control and will likely in. Currently up 54-45 with 7:57 remaining.

As much as I want to see a OSU-Wisconsin matchup

Playing Michigan wouldn’t be that bad.

I'm in a basement watching gamecast.

Did Turner really just hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to win the game? Really?

by wiarchaeologist on Mar 12, 2010 12:56 PM CST reply actions

WOW Ridiculous!

Evan Turner hits a three at the buzzer. THIS IS MARCH MADNESS!!

A Badger Bit for you...

ESPN Chicago has a great article about Howard Moore’s recruiting efforts for the Badgers in Chicagoland

Badgers have missed their first 5 shots.

Illinois leads 7-0

Go inside to Leuer please.

If we can’t hit shots, get some easier ones.

Taylor finally hits.

And now an airball. Ugly.

Can’t let this continue for long or we’re gonna be in a deep hole.

Leuer Again!

Nice to see them push it inside.

by wallrock on Mar 12, 2010 1:40 PM CST reply actions

They keep getting guards on Leuer down low.

I don’t understand why he isn’t taking advantage of that.

he already got packed by a guard

hopefully that doesn’t discourage him from staying in the post

by AdamT on Mar 12, 2010 1:53 PM CST up reply actions

WOW

Wisconsin is 4-of-22 so far in this game. 2-for-10 on threes. That’s ridiculous.

We’re 1 for 17 not including Jon. Only being down 8 is a good thing.

by AdamT on Mar 12, 2010 1:58 PM CST up reply actions

I've counted 4 missed layups so far.

Wisconsin would have a 2-point lead with those.

2 fouls on Taylor.

by Adam Hoge on Mar 12, 2010 1:57 PM CST reply actions

That was one of the biggest bailout calls I've ever seen.

That was not a foul and the ref on the far side of the court called it while the two refs standing right there didn’t.

I’m sure the Badgers will take it. Now if they could only hit a free throw.

Weber was hopping mad

and rightfully so. Look for a makeup call on the other end after the timeout.

by AdamT on Mar 12, 2010 2:03 PM CST up reply actions

Hughes is now 0-for-7 in the game.

Bohannon has zero points and Taylor is on the bench.

He looks beat up though

I get the sense he’s hurting right now. Just doesn’t look right to me. We need him healthy for the NCAA tournament.

Point Blank Layups

They can’t hit anything right now.

Add three more misses to the stat sheet before halftime.

And I'll reiterate what I said Sunday.

Illinois’ fans are the biggest crybabies in the conference.

by Adam Hoge on Mar 12, 2010 2:13 PM CST reply actions

What are they complaining about?

Also, what is the general ratio of fans at the game?

by wiarchaeologist on Mar 12, 2010 2:16 PM CST up reply actions

Bo Ryan is going to the bench.

It’s about time. What else can he do?

This is just getting ugly – reminding me of the Minnesota game.

by lwnexgen on Mar 12, 2010 2:38 PM CST reply actions

There’s that defensive prowess … what the hell is it about Illinois that makes us look so awful.

by lwnexgen on Mar 12, 2010 2:42 PM CST reply actions

Well, this one's over

They’ll be lucky to score 40 points – that’ll do wonders for our seeding.

by lwnexgen on Mar 12, 2010 2:49 PM CST reply actions

That’s because Hughes keeps throwing up crap off the bottom of the backboard

by lwnexgen on Mar 12, 2010 2:54 PM CST up reply actions

So you're saying there's a chance...

This entire game I’ve felt they’ve been this close to pulling out a big run.

by wallrock on Mar 12, 2010 3:07 PM CST up reply actions

Cmmmmmoooon

Lets keep a little of this momentum up

by lwnexgen on Mar 12, 2010 3:08 PM CST reply actions

Bohannon/Hughes

both should finish the game by making like 8 out of 5 three-pointers, to atone for the first 7/8s of the game.

by wiarchaeologist on Mar 12, 2010 3:09 PM CST reply actions

WAY TO GO

AWESOME JOB HUGHES YOU’RE MY HERO

by lwnexgen on Mar 12, 2010 3:11 PM CST up reply actions

Man, that 5 seed out in Spokane is going to be faaaaantastic

by lwnexgen on Mar 12, 2010 3:13 PM CST reply actions

Well, as long as the previews don’t pick us to win, we might win a game or two in the tournament.

by lwnexgen on Mar 12, 2010 3:16 PM CST reply actions

I'm not sure if everyone changed the channel...

but I would like to note our impressive comeback.

by AdamT on Mar 12, 2010 3:29 PM CST reply actions

This is true

Just enough to make me feel a glimmer of hope.

I appreciate the effort though, it makes me feel better about the Tournament.

by wallrock on Mar 12, 2010 3:47 PM CST up reply actions

Honestly, I felt like I was jinxing the comeback if I posted something here.

Good effort, but honestly, Wisconsin had no business losing this game.

I'm blaming our poor shooting...

on the brand of basketball! Check out the fanshot I just put up.

ESPN Coverage of the game

A couple of comments about the game coverage. First, ESPN needs to get someone more experienced on the the game graphics. One graphic was titled “Tournament Wekk.”

Many graphics were out of focus. That was real strange. The announcers kept talking about how terrible the Badgers were playing and not so much about how terrible they were shooting. I don’t get that. Badgers played good defense, dominated turnovers and stayed into the game until the very last shot. Only thing I saw was just a lot of bad shooting. I event thought that shot selection was good. They just weren’t dropping for some reason. Not sure we could blame tight rims. There were a lot of air balls, and hitting on the outside of the rim.
