Steal This Thread: Bowl Games Edition

35 bowl games. 70 teams. A matter of weeks. Shouldn't this be fun? We get to listen to how great the SEC is (or ISN'T, in my estimation). We get to watch spread offenses match up against spread defenses.

Oh, and I get to go to Pasadena, so I'm putting this up.

Do whatever you want to this thread. Link to GameThreads, dissect how much you hate SEC media coverage, how much you hate the Big Ten logos and division names (Leaders and Legends? SERIOUSLY?)...

Have fun with it, CLEAN fun with it, that is.

Star-divide

I might mention how much I love the fact that Marquette fans utterly hate us...and for us, beating them is a nice bonus. They could go undefeated BUT for the Wisconsin game and still moan about how they lost in March. It is a good thing to beat Marquette. And Iowa. And Michigan. And...you get the picture.

Actually, you don't.

Dumb mascot. Badass mascot. Enough said.

Really? ND over Wisconsin? Guess this happens when you choose hype over substance…

I'll give him some credit for Auburn

Most people didn’t have them ranked. But putting PSU and ND above us was just dumb on his part.

Putting Miami and U$C that high

WTF was up with that? Both of those teams combined for quite a few losses.

And on another note: Thanks for nothing, Louisville. You just opened the floodgates and UNLV decided to FAIL afterwards. 3 straight losses means that they’d have to go undefeated in conference play to be ranked again.

Great

I’ve been left with a semi-choice. I go to Oregon, or I go to Pasadena.

It would ordinarily be a no-brainer, but here’s the rub: my cousin, who spent 6 months in Afghanistan in the USMC, is back for Christmas. I have no idea when or where he’s going to be deployed next.

I’m not going LeBron James on people, but I just want to know…where should I go? Pasadena or Portland?

Snag him a ticket and go to the Rose Bowl!

If that’s not an option, then go with Oregon, just make sure you bring your Badger gear along.

His brothers are all big Duck fans

so if Oregon wins, I win. I guess.

You have no idea how much anguish was on their faces after the Rose Bowl against Ohio State. NO IDEA. It took a pair of wild Trail Blazer wins over the next few days to get them out of their funk…

Portland

Family first. Especially in your case. Tell your cousin thank you from me- I have family overseas too.

(makes disgusted sound)

Now, Pasadena was never even a dream for me. Ridiculous ticket price + outrageous airfare + needing to pay for college housing = FAIL. Lower the price and MAYBE I could go. MAYBE.

Yeah

I almost never pick teams that have lost their HC before bowl games. Too many variables. Obviously it backfired here.

That was pretty impressive.

Chandler Harnish might be an NFL QB. He’s improved significantly since the 09 opener.

To get punished by the NCAA nowadays, especially if you’re at a major school, you have to be monumentally stupid.

Fine fine

we’ll let you keep the thousands we know you’re making under the table, then in a few years, we’ll release our findings on everything after its too late to change anything. Oh, and you’ll have to be removed from every record book in conference AND school history.

Sound fair?

Washington 19, Nebraska 7

yet another reason why September nonconference games don’t prove that much. Congratulations on going 10-4, Nebraska. You’re NOT going to be ranked highly next year.

Moments that sealed the Big Ten going 2-0 in the postseason thus far:

a long play-action pass to the Missouri one, complete with an FU victory formation from inside the 5 yard line.
a 55 yard touchdown run by the starting QB to give your school its first bowl win in over a decade.

The SEC going 0-2 in bowl games...

so shocking, isn’t it? And neither of those teams would have qualified in the Big Ten (think of what happened in 2007)
