Saturday Open Thread: After the 41-23 Knockout
Well, we're at 1-1 in conference play. .500. Split. So far, so good. The Badger offense had an amazing day, racking up 30 first downs, and both leading Badger backs eclipsed 100 yards today, Clay with 3 TD runs to complement his efforts.
Overall, this was a fairly complete win. Adam Weber goes out 0-4 against Wisconsin; he completed less than 50% of his passes but got a ton of long bombs down the stretch after Wisconsin took a big lead. While the Badgers didn't record an interception, they came close and contested many of Weber's throws, making life very difficult.
Scott Tolzien had a solid game, the reappearance of Braylon Edwards Nick Toon really helped the passing game, and Jared Abbrederis scored the first touchdown of the day on his first reception of the game (he had 3 overall).
This day has so far seen Wisconsin beat Minnesota for the 7th year in a row, Illinois's first EVER win in Beaver Stadium, and it could see who's really the best team in the state of Michigan (say Wolverines and I call BS, they have no defense). Oh, and an Ohio State slaughter of a hopeless IU squad. Depending on how USC-East does against 'Bama, we could have a top ranked Ohio State team coming to town next week...

I'm just glad Scott Tolzien didn't go all Drew Tate on Nick Toon and whack him upside the head...

People should remember that while they have the right to their opinion, they are not entitled to be taken seriously. -- Bruce Bartlett

This means
Ohio State will likely be ranked number 1 in the land when they roll into Madison. Perfect.
I bet we get GameDay.
Before the season, UT-NU was considered more likely, but Texas is more likely to get PWNed than anything else given how badly they’ve played of late.

Michigan's loss also kills any possiblity of an Iowa-Michigan gameday
Which was a dark horse candidate at best.

Good win for Wisky today
I wish I could remember what it’s like to win :-(
John has a long moustache
Is it just me or did Paterno look awful in his postgame press conference?
Maybe I haven’t been paying attention, but he just looked like he’s no longer in good enough shape to be a college football head coach.
Everyone would look like that
after Zookery went that badly.
Last time this sort of thing happened, QB14 was at the helm and the Illini made a Rose Bowl (which they didn’t deserve).
