Welcome to Bucky's 5th Quarter!

On behalf of our four contributors, I would like to welcome you to Bucky's 5th Quarter, a new Wisconsin Badgers blog on SBNation.  After some time at Blogger, we are excited to join this impressive blogging community.

At some point all of our contributors have covered Wisconsin athletics for various media outlets, but we are also graduates of the University of Wisconsin and are proud to call ourselves Badgers. We hope to share our Badger knowledge and opinions, but most importantly, we want to hear your thoughts on all things Bucky. Please feel free to leave comments on any of our posts or send comments/questions to aahoge@gmail.com

What to expect:

  • Daily news, notes and predictions from across the Internet pertaining to the Badgers or the Big Ten
  • Weekly opinion posts from each of our contributors
  • Basketball previews and predictions, including thoughts from an opposing Blogger
  • HOCKEY, HOCKEY, HOCKEY. We got a hockey guy. He's at all of the games and will bring you the best UW hockey coverage every weekend
  • Open game threads for all UW football and men's basketball games.

You might be wondering to yourself, "How can you have five quarters?" Most of you know what the 5th Quarter is, but if you don't, here's more.

How can you contribute to Bucky's 5th Quarter?

The great thing about SBNation is that this isn't just a blog, it's a fan community. On the right sidebar you will find FanPosts and FanShots. This is your opportunity to contribute to the blog. If you would like to write a full post, then use the FanPosts. If you come across a great link, picture or breaking news, use the FanShots. Also, USE THE RECOMMEND feature. Like a FanPost or FanShot? Recommend it. If a FanPost or FanShot gets five recommendations then it will automatically get bumped to the front page of Bucky's 5th Quarter.

We encourage you to play around with the FanShots. You can add pictures, video, quotes and a lot more.

To get started, you need an SBNation screename. Just click on the "Join Bucky's 5th Quarter" link right underneath our logo. If you already have a screename then you will instantly be added to the community. If you need to sign up, you will be prompted to do so.

Welcome to Bucky's 5th Quarter! We look forward to hearing your opinions.

Howdy

Glad to finally have a dedicated Badger blogger around here.

And if you’ve got any spare points lying around, the Iowa b-ball team could use them.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
