It's been a rough year for players named Taylor at Wisconsin.
Bret Bielema announced Tuesday that UW linebacker Mike Taylor, the team's leading tackler, sustained a season-ending knee injury Saturday..
Taylor will be back next season with three years of eligibility remaining.
"The good thing for us is Mike is only a redshirt freshman and will have three quality years in front of him," Bielema said Tuesday on the Big Ten coaches' teleconference. "We'll help him get through the difficult time."
True freshman linebacker Chris Borland will likely take over for Taylor. Borland led the team in tackles Saturday with 10 and also added 2.5 tackles for a loss and a forced fumble.
