Badger Bits: Purdue snaps UW's 13-game Big Ten win streak

So if the Big Ten was really the Big "10" and Purdue was not in the conference, then Wisconsin would be on a 22-game conference win streak. UW is 22-3 in its last 25 Big Ten games, with all three losses coming at the hands of the Boilermakers.

  • The Badgers have struggled against lengthy teams all season. Mike Lucas, UW's color commentator, says Purdue's defensive pressure was the difference.
  • From the bad guys: Boiledsports.com reacts to Purdue's big win. They summed it up nicely immediately following the game: Carl's better.
  • The Badgers' next opponent, Minnesota, continues to roll. The Daily Gopher has the coverage from Goldie's win over Penn State Sunday.
  • Badgerbeat.com has some good stories on ex-Badgers. Chris Chambers, Michael Bennett and the Chargers are done, while Jim Leonhard played a huge role in helping the Ravens advance to the AFC Championship game. (If only Jimmy was still a Badger.) Meanwhile, while he's still recovering from his leg injury, Jack Ikegwuonu has a front row seat for the NFC Championship game. It's not all good for Ike though because the story also mentions the recent controversy over a picture that appeared on his sister's facebook page.
A quick thought: We all love Joe Krabbenhoft, but if he was your leading scorer, you didn't win the game.
